We are looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic Market Development Manager to bring the café experience directly into top retail stores across Minneapolis. In this role, you will be the face and heartbeat of De'Longhi and Nutribullet—turning curious shoppers into loyal brand advocates through live, high-energy coffee tastings and interactive product demonstrations.

This is a flexible ongoing position working 20-23 hours a week, including drive time. This role is a combination of training, light merchandising, and demonstrations with regular in-market travel for store visits (up to a 40-mile radius) and special events.  

Minimum Pay

USD $23.00/Hr.

Maximum Pay

USD $25.00/Hr.

Additional Compensation

Monthly bonus potential based on program KPI attainment

What You'll Do

  • Deliver High-Energy Demo Events: Run dynamic, crowd-drawing live coffee tasting and espresso brewing demonstrations during peak weekend and retail shopping hours.
  • Build Strong Retail Relationships: Partner closely with store leaders and sales associates across leading retailers (Best Buy, Williams-Sonoma, Target, and department stores), acting as their trusted coffee expert and go-to brand advocate.
  • Lead Engaging Product Trainings: Conduct fun, high-impact group and 1-on-1 associate trainings on bean-to-cup extraction, milk microfrothing technology, and small kitchen appliance innovations.
  • Drive In-Store Sales & Brand Share: Champion the brand floor presence to ensure De'Longhi and Nutribullet consistently outsell the competition.
  • Maintain Showroom Displays: Ensure retail displays, demo machines, and point-of-sale merchandising materials remain fully functional, stocked, and immaculate.
  • Territory Coverage: Execute store visits across Minneapolis and surrounding areas within a designated ~30–40 mile radius (~13–15 door visits weekly, totaling 20–23 hours including drive time).
  • Field Intelligence: Log visit insights, store compliance, competitive activity, and demo feedback through mobile reporting forms.

What You'll Bring

Experience and Education: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • College degree in communications, marketing, training & development, or other relevant field preferred but not required 
  • Ideally 1-3 years of territory sales and merchandising, training, or retail experience

Skills and Attributes: 

  • Energy & Presence: Naturally charismatic, approachable, and excited to strike up conversations with diverse groups of shoppers and store associates.
  • Passion for Coffee & Kitchen Innovation: A genuine curiosity and love for espresso craft, specialty coffee, and premium kitchen tech (barista, hospitality, or culinary experience is a huge plus!).
  • Relationship Builder: Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills; comfortable commanding a demo counter and making personal connections.
  • Self-Motivated & Reliable: Comfortable working independently on the road while collaborating effectively with your field manager and team.
  • Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or business is a plus); 1+ years in retail sales, brand ambassadorship, hospitality, or event marketing.
  • Certifications & Mobility: Ability to obtain a ServSafe food handler certification (paid/reimbursed). Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and active auto insurance required.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand comfortably during store demos, lift up to 40 lbs of demo equipment and supplies, and transport event materials in your vehicle.
